It is dedicated to Rimantas Ulevi\u010dius, a history teacher, one of the founders of S\u0105j\u016bdis in Klaip\u0117da and a deputy mayor, who died tragically. The idea for these memorial markers was proposed by artist Vytautas Kar\u010diauskas, while a support foundation was established by R. Ulevi\u010dius\u2019s father, folk artist Vytautas Ulevi\u010dius.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The second footprint is located near Klaip\u0117da Theatre Square, at the beginning of Turgaus Street. It is dedicated to architect Vytautas \u0160liogeris, whose final project was the reconstruction of this very street.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The third, beside the city municipality on Liep\u0173 Street, honours Alfonsas \u017dalys \u2013 founder of the Lithuanian Sea Museum, a signatory of the Act of the Re-Establishment of Independence, an honorary citizen of Klaip\u0117da and a recipient of the Order of Gediminas.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>These people left a deep mark on the city\u2019s development and spirit, and their ideas and work continue to inspire Klaip\u0117da residents every day.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Authors of the plaques:<\/strong> Vytautas Kar\u010diauskas, Gintas Stasiulis, Klaudijus P\u016bdymas<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Memorial plaques with symbolic footprints are set into the pavement of Klaip\u0117da Old Town \u2013 quiet signs of respect commemorating the stories of prominent citizens.
