That is what the western Lithuanians and the ancient Prussians called me. Coastal people feared me and named me an evil spirit of the waters.<br \/>And the fishermen devised ways to win my favour! When they caught a pike or another fish, they placed it on a clean wooden board in the barn. And they drank from deep bowls to please me. Afterwards they burned those bowls as an offering and gave the fish to beggars.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Passer-by:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8211; Mighty Bangp\u016btys, are you the one who rocks the sea and whips up the foam I like to splash with my feet when I walk along the shore?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sculpture:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8211; Look into my piercing eyes, my lips, my forehead, my undulating head. Do I look like someone who merely rocks the water and beats tiny waves into white foam?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Passer-by:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8211; Oh! I\u2019m drowning, help me\u2026 How you frightened me, old man!
