AB \u201cKlaip\u0117dos energija\u201d invites you on tours of the thermal power plant complex, the only site of its kind in Klaip\u0117da! The tours offer a rare opportunity to get a closer look at the area in the \u201cheart\u201d of the port city, on the bank of the Dan\u0117 River, where Klaip\u0117da’s light and heat were born. Visitors will hear engaging stories about industrial history and see the interwar turbine generators that are still in operation and the impressive 120-metre-high steel chimney, which is already more than half a century old. Tour participants will be able to enter spaces that are usually closed to visitors. The industrial setting, the grandeur of the machinery and the history of the city’s energy will combine into a memorable experience.<\/p>

When darkness envelops the city and the streets and squares light up with cosy lanterns, Klaip\u0117da begins to tell its evening stories. Like stories around a campfire, you may have heard them somewhere before, but they are always newly chilling or a little romantic. Evening is the time when the city’s spirits seem to flutter in the air and whisper their version of history. In Klaip\u0117da by night, the spirits of buildings will speak and the clattering cobblestones will echo the footsteps of people from the past. Symbolically, guided by stories, we will meet bright personalities of Klaip\u0117da and the Klaip\u0117da Region and find out where the cruellest prison in Prussia was, where nobles were buried and where criminals were beheaded. Where romantic feelings blossomed and where the greatest dreams came true.<\/p>
