Talking Sculptures is a project that gives a voice to sculptures in Klaipėda.
“Hey, has anyone ever told you the legend about me? No? Then come closer and listen,” begins the Black Ghost, one of thirteen voiced sculptures in Klaipėda. The Klaipėda Tourism and Culture Information Centre has found an engaging way to make the city’s sculptures speak, allowing everyone to discover their stories.
“It is so much fun not only to discover, but also to hear. Just remember to bring a smartphone or another device – to make a sculpture speak, you will need to scan its QR code,”
says Romena Savickienė, director of the Klaipėda Tourism and Culture Information Centre.
How do you make the talking sculptures speak?
Next to each sculpture listed below, you will find a metal plaque with its name and a QR code. Scan the code to hear the sculpture tell its story.
