How to travel by ferry?

To reach the beaches of Smiltynė, the Lithuanian Sea Museum and Dolphinarium from Klaipėda, or to travel onwards to Nida, Juodkrantė, Preila or Pervalka in Curonian Spit National Park, you will need to take one of the ferries across the Curonian Lagoon:

Old Ferry Terminal

The Old Ferry Terminal is located in the city centre, close to where the Danė River flows into the Curonian Lagoon. Ferries from the Old Ferry Terminal carry passengers, bicycles and pets, but do not transport motor vehicles. During the colder season, ferries run every hour, while in the warmer season they depart every 30 minutes. Special ferries also operate from the Old Ferry Terminal directly to the Lithuanian Sea Museum and Dolphinarium.

New Ferry Terminal

The New Ferry Terminal, also known as the vehicle ferry terminal, is located further south, next to the Gandrališkės residential district. Ferries operate frequently throughout both the colder and warmer seasons, departing approximately every 20 and 30 minutes respectively.

The ferries carry cars, buses, pedestrians and cyclists.
