Educational session “Amber: the gold of the Baltic” with magnet making (can be held in Russian if needed)
In this session, amber becomes not just a “pretty stone” but a real story and discovery.
Pupils will:
learn how amber is formed and what makes it unique;
hear how old amber is and why it is called the gold of the Baltic;
see and touch different samples of amber and learn to tell the differences (colour, structure, properties);
get to know amber processing tools: where they came from, how they were used and what they tell us about their time.
They will make a fridge magnet decorated with real amber.
The session can be held in Russian.
Educational session “The history of Lithuanian money: from the first barter to the litas”
This follows the “museum comes to school” principle with real, authentic exhibits.
Pupils will:
travel through the history of Lithuanian money from the first barter and earliest forms to the litas;
see original, authentic exhibits, just like in a museum;
understand how people’s daily lives, trade and the development of the state changed through the prism of money.
Each pupil will mint a coin.
Important: the exhibits are original and authentic, from the private collection of Mindaugas Eidukas.
