About the activity

Klaipėda attracts you not only with the waves of the sea but also with trails where every turn becomes an unforgettable experience. The Curonian Spit cycling route is one of the most impressive in Lithuania. Winding for 52 kilometres along the coast and through pine forests, the route connects Smiltynė, Juodkrantė, Pervalka, Preila and Nida. Along the way there are breathtaking dunes, the Hill of Witches, wooden villas and smoked fish yards. These dunes have more than once become a film set: the nature here truly deserves to be on film. About 7–8 kilometres from the Old Ferry and you are already at the “Cyclists’” beach. Although you won’t find it on maps, it is considered a cult spot among cyclists. It is a wild stretch of coast: spacious, open, smelling of the sea and the wind. It seems that even time itself pauses here to catch its breath.

There are no lifeguards, cafés or showers here, only sand, pine forest and tables for a short rest.

It is a place where the old spirit of the Curonian Spit can be felt especially strongly, as if nature itself were quietly whispering that true journeys begin where you feel free to be yourself.
