About the activity
This small museum is located inside the ruins of Klaipėda’s old 13th-century castle, surrounded by moats. In the authentic 16th–18th-century posterns, you will learn about the development of the castle and the city. You will see archaeological finds discovered at the castle site and in the Old Town, documents, Klaipėda city seals and reconstructed 17th-century costumes. You will see the symbol of Renaissance Klaipėda, a mid-16th-century gold ring with a gemstone found in the castle, as well as a model of Klaipėda Castle and the city from the second half of the 17th century. You will also have the opportunity to see the restored Castle Tower from the inside and walk through its spaces.
