Just a short ferry ride away, and you find yourself in another world: among the quiet pine forests of the Curonian Spit, where the sea breathes calm and the wind smells of resin. From the Old Smiltynė Ferry Terminal, you can reach the beach on foot or by bicycle along paths winding through the cosy pine forest, with convenient bicycle stands along the way. Smiltynė is one of the few Lithuanian beaches to receive the international “Blue Flag” award, a mark of exceptional quality. You will find clean sand, sports and play areas, changing cabins, toilets, Wi-Fi, charging points, a medical station and lifeguards on duty. The seaside area is adapted for everyone – from young children to visitors with reduced mobility.

For more knowledge and impressions, visit the popular Lithuanian Sea Museum near the South Breakwater. In Smiltynė you can also stop by the Curonian Spit National Park Visitor Centre, see the legendary ship Dubingiai, admire early-20th-century villas and visit an authentic fisherman’s homestead.

If you want to travel farther, buses from the New Ferry Terminal will take you to Juodkrantė, Pervalka, Preila or Nida.
