About the activity
The impressive architecture aptly reveals the essence of Memel-Klaipėda and reflects the coexistence of two different cultures, German and Lithuanian, in one space. The authentic spirit of the pre-war city can be felt particularly strongly on this street, as this part of the city was hardly damaged during the Second World War. Buildings already in their second century, the narrow-gauge railway station, the house where the composer Juozas Karosas lived and worked, and the “teachers’ seminary”, a building whose purpose has barely changed to this day: stories about all of this await you on S. Nėries Street.
