About the place

In the very heart of Klaipėda, along the gently flowing Danė, stretches modern Danė Square – one of the city’s liveliest open-air spaces.

Created in 2022, this leisure oasis combines the tranquillity of nature, historical memory and the contemporary rhythm of the city. Along the square’s main promenade is a historical timeline presenting the most important events in Klaipėda from the earliest times to the present day. In the eastern section there are sports grounds, trampolines, children’s play areas and tracks for scooter and skateboard enthusiasts.

On summer evenings the square comes alive: a musical fountain with a programme of lights and colours becomes an open-air attraction. The square fills with people, energy and a lively urban rhythm – like an ideal postcard reflecting modern Klaipėda.
