About the place

Once a fishing village, today it is a seaside refuge where the air smells of the sea and relaxation becomes a magical ritual. The welcoming Melnragė I Beach is clean and well maintained, with all the modern infrastructure you need. There is a surf school, cafés, lifeguards, changing cabins and toilets. On sunny days, it is perfect for sunbathing; when the wind picks up, you can watch the waves gather momentum or kitesurfing kites fill the sky. Soft sand tickles your feet, the wind kisses your cheeks and your lungs fill with the wonderful scent of pine trees.

The Northern Breakwater is an ideal place to watch passing ships and sunsets or simply lose your thoughts in the ever-changing waves. The sculpture “A Walk with a Fish” stands on it. Nearby begins a trail connecting Klaipėda with Palanga – a great route for walkers and cyclists.

Melnragė is easy to reach from the city centre and is especially popular with young people. Here you will always find what matters most: the sea, sand, wind – and that elusive feeling of summer that stays with you long after you leave.
