Sąjūdis Park

About the place

In the southern part of Klaipėda, between Laukininkų and Varpų streets, lies Sąjūdis Park – a green space dedicated not only to leisure but also to meaningful remembrance. Established in 2008 to mark the 20th anniversary of the Lithuanian Reform Movement Sąjūdis, the park was fully renovated in 2018 and adapted to modern needs.
It features one of the largest BMX, skateboard and roller-skating parks in Lithuania, a gymnastics area, walking and cycling paths, a mini-amphitheatre and ponds with small bridges. A children’s playground with outdoor musical instruments is also accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. For those who prefer a quieter rest, there are benches and picnic tables, while the greenery offers a welcome escape from the bustle of the city.

In the middle of the park is a subtle but meaningful detail: a sculpture by sculptor Stasys Mišeikis and architect Romas Marčius resembling a blossoming flower.

It is a quiet symbol of freedom, inviting you to stop and remember.

Sąjūdis Park is a place where freedom lives not only in history, but also in everyday footsteps, games and peaceful walks.

The park is open around the clock. Activities are free of charge.
